THE CHRISTMAS EDITION! WITH SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCES BY SANTA AND OMICRON!

Image
I have to say, Santa, who has been sporting this look for about a decade now, is truly way ahead of his time in his mask-wearing "above the nose" fashion statement! Additionally, it is optimal for enjoying our festive meal, which started out with... hibiscus, ginger, and cinnamon tea spiced with ancho chili lime juice, rum, and tequila, squid ink risotto with grilled squid and garlic-lemon aioli, cauliflower-onion-parmesan gluten free pizza crust, with black beans, carmelized cabbage, cheese, and roasted romanesco with cashew nut salsa macha, with roasted fresh poblanos and dry ancho chiles. sous vite pork chops finished with blood orange glaze passion fruit reformed reforma torta Some heavy on the mental acuity games were enjoyed by all, programmed thanks to Uncle Rix! blood orange, rosemary margaritas Marko-made corn tortillas topped with black beans, roasted cauliflower, kale salad, salsa verde cheese or crispy skin salmon blood orange, lemon zest, gin and amaro tofunese p...

AND JUST LIKE THAT...PORK FAT!

Image
This week we feature the return of Sex In The City , because they tried way too hard to make it not dated, unlike the original which is literally no longer watchable. Surprisingly, it's not as bad as I was expecting. And if you pair it with a few blood orange, lemon, Campari and tequilas, you might not even notice the horrible plastic surgery that turned Charlotte from the easiest on the eyes to the hardest.  Sage, goat cheese, and yogurt gnocchi, in brown butter leek sauce, sauteed baby zucchini with blossoms, kale blood-orange salad. Smoked cheddar or pork sausage.                                      Apple-gingertini                                                  Roasted veggies over panang curry sauce, crispy salmon and crisp...

THE KING'S AFFECTION CONFECTION

Image
This week we feature "The King's Affection," a Korean drama that takes place during the Joseon Dynasty, an era when sharing a womb with a twin girl was considered a weakness. Without totally spoiling it, the female twin has to take over the throne but pretend she is male. The acting is great, the music is cheese, but what is so unique is how opposite it is from all other Netflix dramas these days where there is a formulaic explicit sex scene within the first 10 minutes. The star-crossed lovers in this drama take what seems like centuries to even touch each other!  Just a quick glance inspires intense emotion and desire, just like this  Salsa macha stripe, topped with fried romanesco steak, surrounded by cucumber celery mint and persimmon salad, melted mozarella or merguez sausage Featuring the King's Affection Confection of the week: tropical reform cake with passionfruit custard instead of chocolate butter cream (chef's notes: custard was too moist-need to modify...

SUCCESSION SUCH ESSEN!

Image
Sorry to say this, but I give Succession 2 thumbs down! There is no hero in the gross family featured on HBO and I think we all really need a hero these days. That being said, the show did make me truly grateful that I don't have to be an evil greedy power-hungry bastard to enjoy the finest quality food. But mostly I'm grateful my mom recovered from her surgery enough to enjoy this thanksgiving with us! pomegranate and persimmon, arugula, parmesan and chopped caramelized walnuts lemon olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette potato-yam moussaka with caramelized leeks, cabbage, and gruyere cheese as a meat replacement tufahija tart with tahini ladyfinger crust, topped raspberries and honey whipping cream Charred delicata squash with fried green tomatoes, leeks, and corn topped with spicy curry leaf and black mustard seed oil, kale tangerine mustard salad. Curried crispy skin salmon or grated ricotta salata.  muddled sage thyme and fresh squeezed orange and lime juice  with orange cur...
