TURKISH DELIGHT!

This week we highlight the Turkish Netflix Series "The Club" about a rebellious Jewish orphan teenager's relationship with a Muslim taxi driver and her mother who was just released from jail for murder.  That was a mouthful-just like this Turkish delight... Zoran's favorite dessert-Tufahija (poached apple stuffed with cinnamon, walnuts topped with honey whipped cream and sour cherry). and continuing with the Turkish them... marinated eggplant topped with fried chickpeas, roasted delicata squash and sauteed spinach for the next day: wild sage and muddled lime reposado tequila, smoky mescale, and elderflower liquor  tomato leek and snap pea pizza with a 96 hour fermented buckwheat dough,  tuscan kale and persimmon salad dressed with lemon walnut mustard dressing and feta crumbs caramelized apple chutney with pan-roasted maple syrup and apple cider vinegar glazed pork chop roasted peppers stuffed with chana dal topped with baked yogurt egg sauce, balsamic vinaigrette dre...

PASS ME A MARTINI PLEASE

 "We're all just passing for something or other, aren't we?" is the theme of the excellent Netflix movie "Passing." This week I'm passing as if everything was normal, but it was a rough one! So yes, I was in great need of this muddled tangerine basil martini with lime juice, orange curacao and gin.  Fresh heirloom tomato broth with roasted delicata squash and sauteed leeks  topped with basil, smoked cheddar, and crispy fried onions charred eggplant with snap peas, salmon or cheese melt trio  (smoked cheddar, robusto gouda, and mozarella),balsamic swirl November's chocolate tasting! Marana was the favorite for both of us! Tofu sloppy joe, charred broccoli, tomato cucumber and fresno chili salad, with almond salsa macha  oat and buckwheat flour tahini chocolate muffin tin cookies roasted celery root with parmesan basil and crushed red peppers and a lemon juice splash Marko is passing as pescatarian now so on his last night in LA we have... grilled bran...

BILLION DOLLAR CODE A LA MODE!

Marko's in town so our house is overflowing with tech talk, cocktails, and a special guest! Therefore, I found it fitting to highlight Billion Dollar Code , a Netflix series on how Google stole google Earth from a team of German visionary techies.  We start off with these ancho chili simple syrup, muddled tangerine and lime, orange curacao, tequila reposado, and smoky chili morita garnish. India rules when it comes to tech and also it's Diwali, so the chef prepared chana dal coconut curry, fried okra with tomato-leak-garlic sauce,  tortilla chapati, and yogurt roti.  and as promised, macadamia chocolate cookie crumble  with roasted banana and strawberry a la mode smothered in melty fudge, OMG                                                     And the next day, The Papaya joins us...
