WHAT'S FOR DINNER UNCLE TATA, SEASON 2

WHAT'S FOR DINNER UNCLE TATA is back with a fresh new title! SEASON 2: THE TRIPLE BINGE pays homage to the 3 things that are getting us through the pandemic: cocktails, dinner, and bingeworthy tv!

First of all, let me just say that all things are more binge-worthy with home-grown                                                                              C..C..C...

C...urry (sorry to disappoint)!

and with that we start with the cocktail of the week:
Muddled curry leaves and lime with coconut rum, light brown rum, and tequila reposado
(definitely a bit shocking at first, kind of like Varun's basil gelato, except this actually grows on you!)

For the binge of the week-we introduce a real pandemic-pleaser, "Younger!"

This show by the same guy who brought us "90210" and "Sex in the City," has just enough humor and fun to get you through those dark days. It's about a single mom who tries to get a job when her daughter leaves the nest, but finds she can only get hired if she pretends to be a 20-something millennial. The show has some highly relatable generational faux pas (I am now a mom with 3 20-somethings), and taught me some interesting new slang, like "trombone arm!"

Admittedly, "Younger" can be pretty cheezy, like this:
home-made 3-flour (oat, corn, wholewheat) yogurt olive oil gnocchi with spicy tuscan kale and yogurt sauce, striped with truffle mushroom puree and smoked cheddar flakes, sprinkled with fresh olive oil tomato garnish!

And the next meal, just like my favorite "Younger" character Diane's jewelery:
is a play on texture and color! Chunky hummus topped w roasted cauliflower, crunchy pickled cabbage, carrot, onion, and kale salad, topped with crunchy curry leaves fried in spiced oil. Crispy salmon for Z and feta bits for me.

It was our 28th anniversary that inspired me to bring back the blog (for lack of a better idea for a gift), and as usual, Z outdoes me in the gift-giving department with 6 months of chocolate tasting.
My rating 1st (on left), 2nd, 4th, 3rd
Z's rating 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 4th
Feel free to stop by for a sample and give us your rating!

And I end episode one with this delicious pic of my birthday girls who turned 20 this week!
Wish I could go back to the time when all things could be healed with a rainbow yogurt push-up!
